Yummy Chex Mix

I was so excited when the 'Master Chefess' asked me to put my yummy Chex Mix recipe on my blog! I am no were near her league in the cooking area but I must have impressed her with my 'so-so' skills. So here it is....

3 cups of Rice Chex
3 cups of Honey Nut Chex
6 cups of Goldham Grahams
1 1/2 cups of butter
1 cup of Karo Syrup
1 cup of sugar
Coconut
Slivered Almonds

Mix cereals together in a big bowl. Add sugar, butter, and Karo Syrup in pan and boil for 2 minutes. Add Coconuts and Almonds (if desired) in candy mixture and pour over cereal. Enjoy!!

Happy Birthday!

Just a quick note to tell my baby sister Happy Birthday! We are 10 years apart...I feel old! Unfortunately I do believe she is more mature than me despite the age difference but that is okay. The saying 'saved the best for the last' is proven very true. Happy Birthday! Love you!

It's Almost Over!!

Christmas Day is the shortest day all year long. Too many places to go while the new gifts at home taunt you to play/enjoy them. It is 6:30 p.m. and we still have to go to our Busch Home to share the Chrismas joy with. (Sorry...we are coming). By the time we wake up way, way early and swim through the wrapping paper and gifts, go to Grandma C. and Great-Grandma W., take a nap (very important), play with toys again, eat all the yummy food that comes with Christmas it is almost time to wrap up the day. Christmas stay around a little longer. We only get to enjoy this wonderful day once a year. To be continued....

An Example To Me

I know we have been counseled to not use the word 'proud', but after attending Tithing Settlement with my little family the other night, I don't know how to express my feelings any other way. I haven't been very good about teaching my children the importance of paying tithing. When they earn money or something, I remind them to give %10 to the church and help them figure out how much they need to give. But, I am not good at following through and making sure the money is given to the Bishop. So, Tuesday night I reminded Tyson he had made $40 raking leaves from the neighbor and picked Jordan's brain if he made any money or not. I don't think he did....he is the laziest little boy I have ever met. We sat in front of the Bishop and declared what type of Tithe payers we were. Of course, Jordan and Austin were Full-Tithe payers because they don't have any money but when it was Tyson's turn I got tears in my eyes. The Bishop asked him if he was a Full-Tithe payer, a Part-Tithe payer, or a Non-Tithe payer and Tyson said he was a Part-Tithe payer. He gave the Bishop the $4 from doing leaves and said he had made money earlier in the year and didn't get the tithing payed like he should have. The Bishop talked to him about taking the %10 out first before anything else is spent then next year he could say he was a Full-Tithe payer. Tyson said he would do that and would make that his personal goal. I stood there with my mouth hanging open. I know Tyson is an honest person but what an awesome example. That took a lot of courage to tell the Bishop that he fell short. Tuesday night he showed me that I can learn just as much from him as he can from me. I love ya Tyson and I am 'proud' of you!

Christmas 2008

Yahoo!!! I am finally finished decorating! I cheated this year and begged for help and decorated as little as possible. My wonderful mother-in-law and sister-in-law came over last week and helped me get my decorating done. My mother-in-law should have a Masters degree in Interior Decorating. She is amazing!! My little house (that has a little house payment) doesn't have a lot space to move furniture or add a lot of extra decor. But Darla is so creative that she helped me change it up so I felt like I had a new house. Thanks Dar so much!! And poor Erin...she was kind enough to help me clean and get organized. I am sure she wanted to throw up a few times when cleaning the kitchen. It was amazing watching my kids actually do what she asked them to do. Jordan actually cleaned really well for her. He won't lift a finger for me. Little stinker. Thanks Erin for showing me that Jordan can really clean. Oh...and thanks for the little 'lecture' to the boys on how to help out. I loved it! You are awesome!!
We bought a new Christmas tree for this year. I thought the one we got was a white-light one but when we pulled it out of the box it was a multi-colored one. I was bummed but when the lights on the top half wouldn't light up I was excited to take it back. We bought the one I wanted and got it decorated. The kids were excited and Austin kept trying to blow the lights out. Silly boy! I didn't put any ornaments on it this year. Living with Mr. Destructo Man guarantees every ornament will be chewed up, lost, or found through out the whole house for the next year. I know....call me lazy, I'm just not up for that this year. I bought a cute little Fisher-Price Nativity set so the kids could play with it and not worry about it breaking. My little Austin has lost almost every piece since I put it out. Oh well.
Now I just need to get the rest of my shopping done, finish wrapping, send out my Christmas cards and I can sit back, relax and remember the whole reason for the season.

My saving grace! Thank you!

Silly boy!

Big helper! Not!

Send me the bill!

Ta Da!!! Looks great!

So True!

You guys probably saw this on Facebook but I had to put it on my blog too. Erin and her photography skills!! She amazes me! Shane posted this on his page and wrote - this is what Austin will look like when he is 85! Ahahahahahhhhh!!! I love it!

We need to do more than the minimum...

I have a wonderful friend that Heavenly Father blessed me with. I am sure in our Pre-mortal existence she promised to be my friend to help me stay close to the gospel. I love her for that! She is someone I look up to and strive be like. She put this video on Facebook and I cried while watching it. I have to share it.
I also want to add that the words of our Prophets gives me so much peace. I am scared to see the signs of the times become reality. I am scared for my children and all they are going to have to endure, considering they are the ones Heavenly Father reserved for the last days. I watch the news in disbelief at all the murders, natural disasters, financial difficulty, and our economic status. I question my food storage....is it going to be enough? I worry about being prepared for whatever is lurking around the corner to test me. The words of the Prophets are comforting and help me feel safe. The video mentioned we need to be more than just members of the church. It won't be enough to do the minimum. I am doing the minimum and sometimes fail to maintain that. I hope this video inspires you as much as it inspired me. It is time to prepare for the Second Coming of the Savior.

Boys

Last weekend I went to the Spanish Fork Chirstmas Fair. So much fun!! I found an adorable little saying in a cute picture frame and for some reason it makes me so happy whenever I see it. I know....crazy, but fun. This is what it says.

Boy n: a noise with dirt on it.

Ahahahahah!!! So true! I love it!

Love, Love, Love this!

Don't you think this Edward is better than the one in the movie? I love the movie but this Edward is more of what I imagined from the book.

Thanksgiving Fun!

The Busch Family had so much fun the last few days! Where do I start? We all (yes, all of us, 10 adults, 11 children and 3 under the age of 2) stayed at the ever-so-gracious Ryan and Melissa Oldham's Mansion. So much fun!! Lots of kids, lots of laughs, lots of good times went down in the history book the last 5 days.
We started with family pictures. Why do I get so stressed for family pictures? I hate it!!! Austin was beastly for the adorable girl taking the pictures. I think I have ruined him by taking so many pictures of him. He sees a camera looking at him and he turns his head or walks off. Goof ball!
Anyhoo...we had a yummy Thanksgiving dinner. We just sat around all day and enjoyed each others company. One of the things I love about my sister-in-laws is they are pretty much my children's mother too. I barely knew I had children the last 5 days. Thank you Erin, Melissa, Shawn, and Mindy. Thursday night we put on our 'Twilight shirts' (thank you Dar) and went to see Twilight. So cool!! Can't wait to go again.
We got up at 6 a.m. on Friday and shopped until we pretty much dropped. I do believe I am ready for Christmas. Yahoo!! Shane was sweet and took Austin home so I could shop without a baby on my hip. It was wonderful! (Thanks babe!) Friday night we took the kids to Jumping Jacks in Spanish Fork. So fun!!
Saturday we went to a 'Craft Show'. Shane lost a lot of money thanks to me. So many fun booths but never enough money. That night we had an adult night out. (Big thanks to Mindy and Rob for babysitting!) Erin, Darla, and I went to see '4 Christmases'. Hilarious!
This morning we had to wrap up the fun and return to reality. It is nice to be home again but I already miss my Busch sistas. Love you all!

Busch girls with fun 'Twilight' shirts before the movie.
(We look like Vampires too. I forgot to fix the Red-eye. Oops!)

Playing at Jumping Jacks with the Cousins.

Jordan and Erin-the aunt that makes him behave like a human.
You are awesome Erin!

And....Austin pretending to be a monkey again.
